SerenityNigh

now you're gonna hear about it
Given the tremendous success that was JDawg's meet up thread, I think you lot should be given the chance to aid me and the Mrs Nigh as we visit the fair city and the Old Lady.

We'll probably stick to the museums and major landmarks, and will certainly have more opportunity than time to enjoy this city. Here are some of the major institutions we're considering:

- The Lisbon (obviously)
- Maritime Museum / International Slavery Musem / Albert Docks
- Tate Liverpool / Walker / Library
- Anglican / Metro Cathedrals
- Liverpool One / City Centre
- Ship and Mitre / many other reasonable pubs
*forgot the Beatles Story, that's probably all we'll have time for

There have been many threads on these various topics, so my apology for the duplication, but will take any advice on these topics or those below:

- Live music / should we make any efforts to this?
- How do I pick the right chippy?
- What's the difference between a butty/sarnie (although I understand there's a decent sandwich shop in City Centre)
- Where do I get a good curry?
- Sunday roast / should we make an effort for this?
- Which full breakfast do I choose?
- Any pub on County road, or just the Brick / etc?
- What else should we see? Prince Rupert's Tower? It's a long walk from City Centre through the tower up to Goodison.

Anything else I'm missing that we should consider? Thanks / will see you in the Top Balcony in a few days...

"Liverpoole is one of the wonders of Britain... In a word, there is no town in England, London excepted, that can equal [it] for the fineness of the streets, and the beauty of the buildings." -some guy who wrote some books

It will take you around 45 minutes - 1 hour to walk from Lime Street to Goodison and past the tower depending on how fast you walk, but I'd definitely recommend you go see the tower at some point. Not only because of the tower itself, but because the views from Everton Park are well worth it.

You dont get pies from Greggs mate.

Pasties, all of them are boss, chicken, steak, cheese and ham, are my favs.

Just ask for 1 of everything on the menu.

why not go to the famous Anfield Kop and get your picture taken while you take a massive sh!t outside the shankly gate ???

I had considered going to see the Hillsborough memorial, but don't think I can stomach walking up to it. I'll watch the ESPN documentary instead I think. Don't think the Mrs Nigh would put up with that photo op. Maybe when the kids are older I'll return with one of them for this chance.

central library has some good stuff on display, like old winners medals from cup finals and stuff

worth a look if you're in the city centre

Come meet us in the tommy frost before the match.

If not go the brick or the oak for ale. Enjoy your weekend!

Cavern club and O'Neill's have life music on every night if you fancy it.
