Help needed.....not sawdust !!!

I have an Ipad 1 and want to connect it to my TV so i can watch films, footy etc on sky go ( i dont have sky sports myself, use a mates password )......i have the HDMI cables but it sayd it doesnt support this application.... do i need to download anything to my i pad to make it compatible ?? any help before tonights game would be wonderful..

it works fine on the i pad....just wanna connect it to the tv mate

No idea mate, I was under the impression the HDMI cables and thee apple adapter would just transfer what's on my i pad to my tv screen.... technology is not really my thing to be honest.

Mate the only way Ive known of it to work is to buy apple TV (which is ace) you can then connect this to your TV and it will receive the signal from your Ipad in great quality. I didnt think you could plug anything into an Ipad?!

yeah, it's an apple adapter which takes a HDMI cable......i'll keep trying lol

I think it's a USB port that Apple cables connect to mate not HDMI

Right...update....I have sound but no picture...message on screen says HDMI OUT IS NOT SUPPORTED ON THIS APPLICATION.....any ideas ???

OK, here goes

Sky Go will not allows you to output video to your TV. There's no point buying an Apple TV, that won't work either. Sky have disabled the function on the app itself, so there's no Airplay to an apple TV.

For Sky Go users it's a non starter, the only way to output it is to use Sky Go on a laptop and use an HDMI or DVI output to your tv
