Where about are you from?:
Dallas, TX is my current home but I've moved around quite a bit spending time in Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kansas, and Ohio.

How did you find these forums?: Google search while looking for information on whether or not Lukaku would sign permanently. Spent a long time reading the forums before finally deciding to post. Glad I found it for sure. Great collection of folks.

How did you become an Evertonian?:
Long winding road really. There wasn't much exposure to football growing up in Mississippi so my first real experience was the 2010 World Cup. As excited as I've ever been over my american sports teams nothing compared to what I felt when Donovan scored against Algeria. I knew then I had to have more. Unfortunately the coverage of european football was subpar at best until the last few years. So I had to settle for the sometimes televised Classico or MLS. Despite having FC Dallas in my backyard I just can't seem to get behind MLS for a number of reasons but that's another topic for another day.

Once NBC started to carry more Premier league games it was time to find a club since I'd be able to suppport them each and every match. Right away Man U, Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal were ruled out for various reasons. Mainly because I have no desire to be a front runner and after watching several matches there just didn't seem to be a connection. Then during the World Cup 2014 I saw Bobby on the coverage and was struck by how intelligent he was.

I started watching highlights and matches from the 2013 Everton campaign online and I was hooked immediately by the passion of the supporters and the relentless play of the squad. The first one from 2013 I watched was Chelsea home (naismith header). I've since gone back and watched as much footage as I can possibly find of past teams and players. Reading as much of the club history as I can get my hands on has further cemented the fact that I can only say I am lucky that Everton found me and made me a supporter.

Since then I literally cannot get enough football. Whether it's Bundesliga, La Liga, Premier league or just hours and hours of FM. It's almost as if I'm making up for the time lost when I had no idea just how beautiful the game was. While I do realize that some local supporters look down on us new American fans I hope that they see how much passion most of us have for the club, the game, and just how jealous we are of those of you that are close enough to regularly see the Blues in person.

Your all-time favourite Everton player?:
Graeme Sharp- Never seen anything more beautiful than the screamer vs Liverpool.

Your current favourite player?:
Baines though the more I hear about how hard Lukaku works the more sure I am he will end up as my favorite.

Pineapple on Pizza, Is it socially acceptable? What are your views?
Ok with this on VERY rare occasions. like when you're vacationing in hawaii. Otherwise stick to NY style Sausage and pepperoni with extra cheese.

TL;DR - Fell in love with the Blues..please don't hate me for being late to the party :)

Great post! You're in good company, one of the mods is a Texan. The only thing you have to worry about is being tutted at by condescending Europeans every time a rubbish gun thread pops up.

Welcome! This is a great place to be. Lots of friendly people here. And another new person from Texas. We're taking over bwahahaha.... My new member post is below yours haha.

I totally feel your pain and jealousy about not watching the Blues in person. Watching fan footage from inside the stadium is the closest I've been to. Maybe someday we'll make it over there. :)

Welcome...post loads.

There's loads of Americans on here mate, the English love us. The ones that don't are just jealous ;)
I ain't jealous of nothing friend. I just don't like the way you look so longingly at Pineapple on Pizza.
@mbyrd75 hope you enjoy the place. Like you caught the bug, and fell in love with Everton.
Contribute regularly and don't take yourself or others too seriously and you'll have plenty of fun. Check out the American Food thread floating around in the Ale House somewhere, it'll make you feel right @ home.

Welcome to the forum. Originally from Arizona by way of Boston.

I consider that Chelsea match where Naismith scored to be my "baptism" ... never forget how I felt after all the worrying 'round these parts about the season, concern... just seemed to melt away when Naisy knocked it in. Never forget how I felt the rest of the weekend after that. Can't get enough of it.

It is never too late to be found mate. Welcome.

And we love the American Blue community. Make sure you check out the Baseball and College Football threads in the Ale House. Its like a forum within a forum in those, they made me feel very welcome when I popped in there out of curiosity!

Any problems, drop us a pm.;)
