Helens Law......

All, it has been announced by the Justice Secretary that Helens Law will be adopted in England and Wales. I would really like to thank everyone on here for their support in helping to get around 600,000 signatories and to help push this through the system. It’s taken a while but has been worth it. Many thanks.....

I always felt that judges should be able to ask questions of people who have been convicted of a crime and then find them in contempt if they don't answer. If someone is convicted of being in a group which assaults someone, when found guilty the judge should be able to ask for the names of the accomplices, if the convicted person refuses to answer then that should be compempt and the sentence increased until they answer. Hopefully this law will lead to other changes which make more sense to ordinary people.
