true its an interesting debate in general, i think it might happen eventually...i remember our headmaster at school saying women shouldnt play football as their bones are too weak lol...something that seems highly unlikely now could be the norm in 50 years time

Things haven't progressed that much since then imo. At the moment there is a womens bike race here in Britain, but the governing body for cycling has restricted stage races for women to less than 100km per day. It creates bizarre situations such as women completing the amateur Ride London event riding for longer than those in the Olympic road race. Truly bizarre.

Not necessarily size, but total body strength in general.

Wasn't really thinking of specific examples, but I wonder how some of the larger male players (Duncan Ferguson for example) would feel about tackling a small, zippy female winger?

I'd feel sly and not do it wholeheartedly, I'll be honest.

I'd two foot her.

That's my very point - you'd be in the minority, even though, all things being equal, that's exactly what you should do if they've signed up to a mixed team.

Men in all probability would hold back, but I reckon women wouldn't.

Yes I agree. TBH I've just been messing about in this thread being chauvinistic. I can't see a situation where men can compete against women in contact sports. Like you, it just doesn't feel right.

I don't like womens boxing either. It's quite disturbing for me and I refuse to watch it these days. I recognise their right to do what they like and I know they're every bit as capable as the next person in all areas but still it bothers me.

Woman v woman is sound.

Mixed would be wrong.

pretty sure you shouldn't be doing two footed tackles, mixed teams or not
