Is there a basis for this general dislike. Are these bowls as bad as many say? Watching Ajax game and their bowl is looks and sounds good

Or is this "bowls are poo" just a fashionable thing to say?

You end up with a big gap between goal and stands, no? Can't be having that.

Visually they look better than 4 sided stadia, but they don't make for a good atmosphere.

Of course if the shape of the playing field was changed from a rectangle to a circle, could be interesting, no more corners, throw ins all round running a curved line. How would Baines cope?

The ArenA, if it's not full and the crowd isn't up for it, has a terrible atmosphere. It feels cavernous.

A lot of the seats are really far away from the pitch also. You don't feel a part of the action there the way you do at Goodison.

It can be excellent at times and would suit some clubs but I just don't think it would suit us as we aren't the type to sing the whole match and I personally feel it would lose us much of the edge we have from playing at home. We need the seats as close to the pitch as possible - at Goodison even when I've sat like in row HH in lower gwladys I feel like I'm right on top of it.

I don't think a bowl is necessarily bad but I wouldn't want it modelled on the ArenA. The San Siro is a bowl right? That concept would be ace.

Personally I think it should be a rectangle but fully covered right the way round and none of those pillars in the way.

Bowls are clinical, generic, lifeless contemporary forms.

To classic art forms such as baroque, they could be compared to minimalist modern.

I know which I prefer.

There isn't any character or culture or craft. It's all curves and chrome and cack.
