For years I have been watching matches thinking I'm bored and just doing it out of routine. I don't enjoy 90% of the matches I watch on TV.

I moved to Cumbria a couple of years back and have watched Workington a few times and have to say I loved it. The problem lies with the presentation of football.

Therefore I'll be watching Everton matches this season and nothing else involving PL teams. It's boring. It's uncompetitive. It's a waste of time. I've been saying for a while I'm cutting down so this is the season to do other things.

That said I wasn't looking forward to the 2014 World Cup and thought it was fantastic.

I'm the same, it's a routine and habit. But then I think what else will I do this coming Saturday afternoon? I won't be at goodison as I've given up my season ticket as its way too much money to be THAT bored every time but it is a nice escape

I'm pleased with how I like football at the moment, enjoy it but very rarely get worked up about it. Guess it's 'just a game' for me. The social aspect is/has always been the most appealing part

I used to live an breathe football, it used to be just about everything to me. No I just reserve all that for Everton. I don't watch any other games through the season.

There used to be excitement in games, a sense of unpredictabilty, now its just same old same old, even the players themselves, there doesn't seem to be anything happen any longer that you can just enjoy. If a player does something genuinely off the cuff and brilliant it is analysed down to the last fragment rather than just enjoyed for what it was.

Even if you look at these adverts with Henry in, the best and most memorable moment depicted in those are the events that happened in the more formative years of the EPL.

The game is sanitised these days, which is against everything I used to love, which was raw emotion, raw ability, and the game for the people.

Either that, or I'm just getting old.

The RS total collapse in Martinez's first season was pretty unexpected, when you consider where they were. One of the better moments in the league recently.

Id say quite the opposite. With Rodgers in charge, I only ever expected them to fail. The mans a bottle job.

The only truly unexpected part of that season (for me), was our performances tbh.

Nah I'm 28 and I'm going off it massively, even in the years I've been watching its changed so much. The season is pretty much decided, teams like us honestly only make up the numbers and the media has changed us to thinking 6th and 7th is achievement (and many of our fans)

I've just read in a different thread that a game vs Leeds in 1990 on the first day was "newly promoted Leeds". They were league champions less than 2 years later. This will never happen again - its unlikely a team that finished below 4th the season before will win the league - that liverpool close call last year was a once every couple of decades thing and they are a special case due to being one of the richer clubs so in theory they should be challenging anyway. It is so uncompetitive its ridiculous.
