@Joey66 got lost while wandering a deserted aisle of a garden centre. He was never seen again. Believed to be the victim of a flesh eating plant, thrre was no trace of him ever recovered. His son vowed revenge on the plants and dedicated his life to eradicating them. Unfortunately in a laboratory accident, son of Joey66 injected the plant DNA into himself and became a terrifying mutant, half murderous plant, half human still seeking revenge for his long lost father but with a taste for human flesh.

How's that as a plot line?
