I worked in Old Hall Street, had many a chat to Labby, he just loved Everton, so much so, he wouldn't hear a
thing said about them,a bad thing that is. He hated Liverpool as much as any Blue.

He was made up when Arsenal beat Liverpool in the last minute of their famous league match to win the
championship off them. More so because he had a tenner on them to win 2-0 at 14-1.

Injured in the F A Cup semi against "them" 1971. And that for me was the end of the School of Science.

Used to look forward to his appearances at h/t on the pitch during the 90s doing the raffle or whatever.

I've still got the school dictionary from 1970 with 'Everton Champs' written all over it with the names of the players listed, and his name is prominent among them.

That photo of him pacing up and down goodison road in the last few minutes of the Coventry game in 1998 is one of the most iconic efc pictures ever IMHO.
