Not saying it's the reason, but it helps mask the fact that the manager decided to play 3 centre backs, and leave and I'm sorry but this is bang on the money, a lad in form coming down the right, on the bench.

Hibbert for me is a better crosser of the ball then Jagielka, he's also a better right back and he's in form. Jagielka is our best centre back by a country mile, Distin can be shakey, and Yobo is on the downturn of an average career. Saha is lacking in form and Yak is starting to find his shooting boots. Neville is not good enough anymore, and Rodwell is a man who is eager to impress. We had no Pienaar and a 9m signing was left on the bench.

I'm really not alone in this head scratching event.
