Halo 4

I don't really think Halo is a problem when it comes to the stagnation of FPS games and games in general. At least not anymore.

Perhaps it was, but I don't see it being aped too much now. Halo is just Halo, and there's nothing else that fills that void in the same way. They're not released every year. This is the fifth proper, standalone release (Halo 1-4 + Reach) in 11 years, so that's not too oversaturated in my opinion. New CoD games feel like re-skins but each Halo release generally makes major changes to the visuals, mechanics and features of the game.

Personally I love the multiplayer elements of Halo; that's what originally drew me to the series. Even the campaign -- playing it with 1-3 mates is always a blast, and so far Halo 4 holds true in that regard as well.

It's all about opinions at the end of the day, and I can only give mine. I'm a massive fan of the industry and so I'm generally against franchises being milked to death and originality coming second to profitability. But I still love Halo, and until that changes -- like it did 3 or so years ago with CoD -- I'm not going to complain if they make more Halo games.

Yep. The FPS games are all copying CoD, not Halo.

And the gameplay difference between Halo 3 and Halo 4 is very noticeable, in multiplayer anyway. I haven't even touched the campaign yet.

Halo has been redesigned and rebuilt, these graphics are some of the best visuals on this generation of consoles.

Halo's gameplay can't really be changedotoo much, mainly because it's the most balanced of multiplayer experiences on console.

Halo isn't the problem with FPS, COD is.

Only thing that I really liked about the Halo series was playing multiplayer with mates. Sod online and the plot.

The great thing about it is just that though -- there's so much to it, and so much to love.

I know people properly into the lore and the story, who play the campaign over and over solo. I know people who are competitive with the multiplayer. I know people who just play local custom games with friends on crazy forge maps. And so on. Personally I like pretty much all of it, bar maybe firefight mode (which has been scrapped this time).

The emphasis on community and multiplayer is certainly something I love. They facilitate multiple players in all modes both online and locally and it really helps the franchise be one of those ace party favourites. I'm living on campus at the moment at uni and the late night Halo Reach/3/4 sessions with hall mates are just immense.

Just started the campaign. These are better graphics than i've seen on any console title, and the facial modelling in the FMVs is incredible.

343 really know how to do graphics, to be fair. They're an immensely talented team in that respect.

Can't stand Xbox live and having Canadians chat ****e to me while i'm playing a game, but the Halo games are at their best in Campaign and Multi-player, will purchase this.
