Gutty Ike

This is aimed at scousers of a certain vintage who were regular readers of the Liverpool Echo. Here we go - Who was Gutty Ike?
I maintain he was the subject of a regular cartoon in the Echo many years ago. I have googled it under Liverpool Echo cartoons and loads of cartoons appeared but no Gutty Ike. The name indicates he was a greedy sort of fella and I have been asked to prove it by providing an image of the cartoon to a scouser friend who does not believe Gutty Ike existed. I have been calling him Gutty Ike because of his eating habits. O know I have not imagined Gutty Ike so please help. (Maybe it was just a scouse nickname and there was no cartoon?)

I remember Curly Wee and Gussy Goose in the Echo. Never heard of Gutty Ike though. Was it a nickname for Gussy Goose?.

Yes!! Brilliant. Thank you. It must have been Gussy Goose. I confused it with Gutty Ike which I probably got from my mother.
