Oh for sure. A lot of older Czech folks are pretty bitter about the whole thing. I mean the Allies gave up their country to Hitler first off, then to Stalin once the war ended.

There are other minority groups that claim this and that based upon being shat on historically by those in the west, you'd imagine many from central and eastern Europe probably feel the same, yet few that I know have a chip on their shoulder about it.

There will always be good and bad folks of whatever group you can think of, but all attempts at actually measuring this sort of thing suggest that eastern European migrants contribute far more than they take, and the ratio is much better than the native population.

I don't think we have any Romanian members, but we sure do have a Bulgarian one that's currently studying up in Scotland. Do you think he needs to hear the kind of garbage Nik spouts?

Not everyone takes immediate offence and there are a lot of honest hard working foreign people who would testify to thousands and soon to be millions of people taking advantage of this countries soft laws on immigration.

Back to he Gurkhas. These are a people we should hold in high esteem and provide for as they did us.

We shun them and build more mosques disproportionate to the needs of the population and fight tooth and nail to accommodate the hoards of unskilled eu migrants coming over and working jobs we have no needs for other than businesses trying to exploit cheaper labour.

I dontn blame immigrants for coming over and taking advantage of our system. I would. I blame the cretins in charge past and present. The Ghurkas are people we should be looking after and yet we devote time money and effort on people far less deserving.

Any large cohort of people is going to be diverse in terms of skills and education, the point is should the UK be obliged to take on the dregs of another nation's society? The immigrant pleb population is not negligible, it is considerable, and it is a significant drain on welfare budgets and public services.

The likes of the USA and Australia have got it right IMO. They determine your eligibility to go and live and work there on your skills and ability, and not on your nationality. Criminals are sacked off in an instant in the USA, not in the UK though, you can be a convicted rapist and a heroin addict and still be allowed to move over here, as long as you are from a EU nation, and the UK will pay for your methadone.
