I've become a bit of a Fender advocate over the past 20 years, but my first 'proper' guitar was an Ibanez RG550.

That guitar has been sitting around gathering dust so I thought I'd tidy it up and sell it on - Turns out i've completely forgotten how to restring a Floyd Rose style guitar.

All of the videos and guides online don't work - Long shot, but does anybody on here have any advice before I set fire to it and launch it through a hotel window?

never have owned a FR but I think the trick is to remove and replace one string at a time to keep the unit more balanced.

I've only ever played standard-strung electric guitars, Jimmy. From those who have/have had them, all I've ever heard is that they are a dog to re-string and re-set the Floyd Rose. And if a string is broken during playing at a gig, it throws the whole tuning system out and the Floyd Rose needs to be completely re-set. That's why I think you'll find all those who gig with a Floyd Rose-equipped guitar always take a second as backup. I always gig with two guitars anyway...

For those who may be interested: Left is 1991 Gibson Les Paul Custom, and next to it is a 2009 '08 Les Paul Standard.
