After some advice , I'll be in town on Saturday shopping for a new acoustic guitar, can anyone recommend any good guitar/music shops to visit. I bought my last one from a good shop on Ranelagh Street (I think) but I think that's gone now. Any suggestions?

Curly Music on Renshaw Street is a very good place.

Dawsons on Williamson street has always intrigued me due to it being huge!! Guitars everywhere..

Glad they are still going. Bought a bass and a 4 x 12 there in 1978. They still work.

Yeah I've had a fair bit of gear off them over the years, glad to hear they're still in business. Got a shock a few years back when I came home for a visit and saw Rushworth's had closed down.

I also have/had a soft spot for Micro Music on Smithdown Road, run by two brothers iirc. They interviewed me for a job there when I was 16. Probably long gone by now I suppose.

Moran Sound in Gateacre has been there a long time and has a very good reputation amongst the music fraternity.

Loved that shop, was a regular visitor. Closed down a long time ago, 1995 i think.

What is your budget abd what style are you playing ?
Ive been playing for 50 years and I am also a maker so I can probably give decent advice
