Plucky little Ireland eh?Yeah it was a 2nd string italy side..yeah Italy always knew they were top of the group&facing spain..but the effort/the sweat&the genuine WANT from that band of brothers tonight made a tear shed for me....been following toffees since 85 across the water&been to many games away&home at the old lady and i cried as well in 95....love Ireland-love Toffees x

I actually though the reaction to the Henry incident was over the top at the time and actually reflected badly on us as a nation. It's football sh!t happens. Some days the breaks go for you.Other days they don't.Anyway i was quietly confident that Ireland would get out of the group and that has been achieved.Looking back at it Sweden should have been beaten the first day.Belgium were just too good for us on the second day. That was a weakened Italian team last night but we'll take the three points. This team is at it's best when it's the underdog and all the pressure will be on France the next day.I just like to finish by saying well done to both ourselves and Northern Ireland on reaching the quarter finals.

Best bit for me was what the hell was our left mid doing right on the penalty spot for that header??!!. Sheer desire, they kicked every ball for us fans. Nothing to lose against France, right into them, leave as heroes, win, lose or draw. One simple wish, if I could turn back time and be outside in my housing estate and just listen as that goal went in
