I do enjoy the constant shouts of "fix" because of this group

This was an awful draw for Russia

Egypt have Salah and Uruguay have Suarez, both of whom are capable of winning games on their own and will be jazzed to play the host nation

Russia will be lucky to finish 3rd

Hmm i think a country like Russia has the potential, to be a really strong footballing nation.If they get their act together.I think they can get as far as the quarter finals at most.

Awful draw? I wouldn't go that far
 
Russia will finish third, end of. Second at very best if Uruguay or Egypt don't feed the ball to their best players (Uruguay Cavani Suarez, Egypt Salah)

Russia obviously being the host nation, but it's much easier for me to picture Russia qualifying than it was for Saudi Arabia. Didn't they squeak through in the Asian playoff rounds?

a Russian journalist on talksport a few weeks ago said it’s the worst side in years and they’d be happy with 1 win.

that France team. Were boss but I was gutted that Ronaldo had that meltdown as I was obsessed with him then . 2002 when he ran the show was great , even better I got 14/1 for him to be top scorer .

IMHO that Brazil team was the best at the 1998 tournament and may well have won if that thing had not happened to Ronaldo. The French team was obvs good but IMO not a standout team. I reckon it was on a similar level to the likes of Holland, Croatia, England and Argentina just below Brazil. I think the French win gave them the confidence to go on and really be the dominant side for the 200O Euros.

Agreed on Ronaldo, probably my favourite all time player. If not for injuries could've gone on to do what Messi and the other Ronaldo are doing now.
