I started following the club 18 months ago because 9am on the weekends in the US is the only time I have to watch sports anymore. I made Everton my side because I didn't want to jump on a Top 6 bandwagon, or end up getting relegated. It's been a wonderful 18 months learning how passionate Evertonians are (and all of the other great stuff that comes along with being a Toffee - EITC, etc.).

(Also my two other sports favorites- the Washington Football Team and the Baltimore Orioles, are consistently amongst the worst teams in their leagues, so its great to discover a sport where tanking on purpose isn't a thing).

Can't wait to visit Goodison once we're allowed back in your country. (I did see Everton at West Ham in March 2019, but I sat very quietly with the home fans and wore neutral colors )

Hey hows it going, are Washington keeping that as a name permanently or is it a temporary name? I always watch the NFL!!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

They will eventually bring back a team name, although ownership has said they might stick to being the WFT if fans take to it. The issue was that they announced they were dropping the old name 2 weeks before training camp started last year and this is a massive rebranding. It would've gone over very poorly if they'd chosen a name so quickly. This gives them much longer to research/unveil a new brand identity and properly promote it.
