If they didn’t get it then who would? Would prices of sky or ticket prices come down? Or would it mean that the people at the top get it? Would the money be fairly distributed to the non-playing staff? We live in a capitalist economy that a lot of people seem fine with until the, often working class, workers get their share of the profits.

This is part of why one day I will be done with football entirely. Becoming the worlds greatest money racket these days.

Don’t like this culture of players running down deals for cut price transfer fees and higher sign on bonuses.

So much money disappearing from football into players already bloated bank accounts and dirty agent fees.

Lack of transfer income means further ticket price increases, shirt prices etc and less money for academies, grassroots and club running costs.

Ridiculous and getting out of hand. Even your average PL club is desperate for a rich Arabian buyer to step in.

Aye, loads and loads of other vultures circling the game cashing in, having a go at the actual talent is a bit weird
I can’t say it’s morally right for someone to earn more in a day than most will earn in a year, but they didn’t force the club to offer them that contract.

It’s funny you never see people going after film stars and musicians for earning crazy sums of money. Or F1 drivers for that matter. Footballers get loads of criticism though.

The Bosman rule was designed to protect players from being held to ransom by clubs, but it’s actually gone the other way now. A change is needed.

This. Good luck getting it though, I don’t think the clubs or the players carry the power anymore, the Barkley deal is a good indicator of that
