Greediest footballers

Personally I think footballers have the right to get the best contract that they can, wherever they can. I don't begrudge anyone earning all they can. The way clubs treat players now, they don't really deserve any "loyalty" clubs are quick to throw these players on the scrap heap when they are not deemed good enough anymore, either through age or injury, so what sort of attitude do we expect from players.

Looking at our own club, didn't even have the decency to tell Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert that they wouldn't be kept on, just released a list of names to the press. Regardless of what you think of them as players, they have been with us since they were kids

you can talk about greed both on and off the pitch btw.

Just off the lukaku thread and I included rom in the 'most greedy bracket' of players. Made me start this thread. My dad's a spurs fan and every time they are on tv he points out just how many goals Spurs could score if Harry Kane squared it or passed to a better placed teammate. It really is ridiculous how many times he shoots from impossible angles and fails to score. He will no doubt leave after next season for 80 million and £300,000 a week when he scores another 20 from 100+ attempts for Spurs, and no longer being a big fish will flounder at whatever club is unfortunate enough to buy him. There's no loyalty anymore and the Kane song 'he's one of our own' will look ridiculous.

Here's a few Kane facts, he does shoot a bit like.

Shots on target
If this Spurs centre-forward is having a shot, he's got a better chance than anyone else of getting it on target.

A whopping 65 per cent of all Kane's shots end up on target; that's a higher rate than any of the other 25 top scorers in the league this season.

Shots total
Kane's shots-on-target rate is all the more impressive when you consider that, of those 25 top goal-scorers, only Aguero, Christian Benteke and Gylfi Sigurdsson have fired off more shots than the Spurs forward's 85.

Shots from outside the box
When it comes to shooting from outside the box, Harry Kane has the edge on his rivals.

He shoots on average 1.4 times per game from beyond the limits of the penalty area, more than Alexis Sanchez (1.3), Aguero (1.3), Roberto Firmino (0.9) and Romelu Lukaku (0.8).

Assists
Kane isn't just a finisher, a selfish goal hog; only two of the league's 25 top scorers have contributed more assists than his seven – Sanchez (10) and Sigurdsson (13).

Evidently the Premier League's other strikers just don't have the same spare capacity for generosity as Kane.

Ronaldo is perhaps the greediest I've ever seen on the pitch, with Kane closely following. Big rom is up there too. Think of how many times he has wasted opportunities of providing easy assists, opting instead of shooting from impossible positions. I think we should have a counter per game button next season (if he stays) for such stats.

Greed is one of conte's pet hates at Chelsea, and it's interesting to note that it's very rare Costa or hazard etc go for glory if there is a better placed teammate. Maybe that's why they are league champions. The positives of this are twofold; more goals will be scored and better team spirit will be fostered. It's amazing how many times you'll see Barkley or deli Ali cracking up after rom or Kane have refused to make the easy assist pass in favour of the selfish, greedy impossible shot.

Nothing in football annoys me more, well, apart from diving.

I think it became very noticeable in the latter part of the season that Lukaku became greedier than normal as he strove to win the Golden Boot.
