And at a stroke, go bankrupt.

Thats the problem now.
I don't agree. Between them they could restructure - they may have to flog off some of their players to the fairytale league, but enough would stay - they all have big enough squads.
I want to see a return to blood and guts togger played on muddy pitches, by real men, not spoiled cry-arses with fancy haircuts. Is that too much to ask?

Well I would assume the TV money would stop over night, so having big squads and that would be a problem. Then, any decent players would be sold for buttons to the 6 in fire sales, then any secured debt would be called in. (Sale of stadiums quite likely).

Then, any owners basing their business plan on being part of the PL circus would quickly realise that aint the game any more, so would bail out PDQ.

BTW, ^^^ would also apply to the 6 leaving, just they would have a decent chance of replacing/renegotiating any TV deals.

In the next 10/15 years I can see them setting up a midweek Euro league type of tournament, basically the CL but a closed shop version

I thought they might try a few years back, well, they did iirc. But now, I reckon the mail Euro giants are pretty sated cash wise. Like, there comes a point when another few £million a week in income is pretty much loose change when the cost of players and their wages are so astronomical.

Break away leagues and that happen when the main protagonists are unhappy with their lot, a'la the PL deal.

pull the plug on the tv money no one will be able to pay the wages of the superstars, we would be left with the team who wins the league will be the team with best youth set up, I'm in.
