Shearer was much better player than Rooney.
 

Never saw Nev in his prime, so I couldn't really give a fair view on the debate but even in 95 when he was arguably past it, he almost single handedly won us the cup final.
 
Gazza at number 8? I mean, he was brilliantly talented, but when you look back at his career does he deserve to be ahead of, (lets say, for example) Ball, Rooney and Giggs?
