Greatest moment in Everton history?

My Dad/Uncles always say Bayern Munich at Goodison is the best memory they have. I'd have liked to have witness Goodison at its claimed greatest.

Try Jeff, must be one that grabs ya

Because our championships, four in my lifetime, were won pretty easily and didn't go down to last day drama, it's hard to define an actual
moment in those.
There was the moment in the 1966 FA Cup Final when we scored after being 2-0 down and even now I can remember the feeling of it and
being absolutely positive that we were going to win. I still get goose bumps when I think about the way that match unfolded.

This is about a single moment, not a match or owt like that, right?

OK......for me I would say the moment Derek Temple's shot hit the back of the net at Wembley in '66.

Another contender would be the moment Neville tipped Graham Roberts header over the bar at WHL in the spring of '85 which was probably the moment we became champions elect.

Then there was the moment Graham Stuart's shot crossed the line on Wimbledon Day in '94.

That for me is the 1-2-3 greatest moments in my Everton supporting career.

The great moment that got away was the moment Wayne curled the winner against Arsenal in '02 and announced himself to the world.

That should have been the first of a decade of great moments from our lost boy but alas it was not to be :(

Another moment that is still vivid in my memory was at Anfield in 1956. I used to go there sometimes when Everton were away and this particular
day we were at Man Utd - Liverpool were playing Lincoln City, I think.

Utd were in there pomp and I remember during the week Matt Busby was telling us in the paper why they were the best team in the world.
Anyway, they were putting up the half time scores and you knew that when he got to that game every eye in the ground was fixed on it, and
up it went - 1-3. You should have heard the buzz around the ground. I was absolutely elated.

You didn't get the final scores in those days until they came on the radio at about quarter to six and that's the other moment that still
sticks - in that posh BBC voice - Manchester United 2 Everton 5. I was in heaven.
