Greatest film soundtracks

I particularly enjoy the random way in which Tarantino even arrived at some of his music selection for Kill Bill - the anecdote on his discovery of the band 5, 6, 7, 8s is a testament to that
Funnily enough not a big fan of Kill Bill so don't recall the music at all. That having been said, I reckon if I watched it again (only watched once) I'd likely love it, as his films are generally brilliant.

In general, I despise violent films - particularly gratuitous ones but the Kill Bill story I find remarkable. I don’t dislike Tarantino films but do find them too overhyped while Kill Bill for me will always be a top 10 screen spectacle

That's it - putting it back on my list to watch this week. 🤭

I think his movies are decent, but a little overhyped like you say. I haven’t seen them all, (haven’t seen Inglorious Bastards or The Hateful Eight) but from the movies I have seen, I think his most accomplished movie is still Pulp Fiction, which if I recall correctly was his second time out as director. I also liked Once upon a time in Hollywood.

Anything done by Hans Zimmer

Interstellar
Pirates of the Caribbean
Dune

Oh and a big shout out to Howard Shore for the Lord of the Rings trilogy

Fantastic stuff

Only come to the last page but seen Tarantino being discussed. I am a but biased as I am a bit if a fanboy, absolutely adore his stuff and sometimes can a get a bit pretentious over discussing it . HIs soundtracks are so well thought out and add so much to the film itself it is hard not to put most, if not all, high on the list, just for the fact that he uses the music as a character and does it so well.

Although, for me, nothing comes close to The Lost Boys. Just an iconic soundtrack with songs that bring you right into the film every time you listen to them.

And finally a nod to Queen of the Damned. Every time I hear Cold or Forsaken, I just want to watch that film.
