I wanted nothing. I actually got nothing. Finally no one wasted money on stuff I don't want - it's so relieving to not have or expect stuff. The only thing I would change is that no one even asks what I want before getting nothing next year.

In a similar vein, is there a bigger waste of time (and money) as Christmas cards?

Utterly pointless.

I insist on a home made card or not to bother. My artistic skill is "variable" at best, but it at least shows some effort. It's not even being mean with money so much as just not wasting it on something destinied for the bin in a week's time.

The only cards that have a chance of being saved for prosperity is my son's Christmas Tiger (very Dalian Pro) one and the card I made from the dog.

She likes to foreshadow...yes dear, we're taking off to Colorado again for 2 weeks this year and I'm cooking; I know. Those 2 weeks are better than birthdays, Valentines and Christmas all put together, though.
