What part of "Sign it or don't sign it?" are you utter t*ts not understanding? It's not a political thread.

Sorry mods, infract me if you wish but it's taking the p*ss. It's an issue close to the heart to someone on the forum, nothing more, nothing less.

Of course it's a political thread, what is more important at the moment than getting our economy back into balance?

Sign it? Or don't? Your opinion is precisely that, however 62k agreed, afraid you're in the minority here.

How does 62k people signing it put me in a minority. The population of the UK is over 60 million. Do you know how many agree with the petition? Only about 0.1% have bothered to sign it.

Jog on mate, someone's made a thread to gather a bit of support for something he's passionate about and/or possibly affects him, either way you don't need to respond the way you have, just don't sign it, you're attempt at beating the internet is failing here.

They pay what the law requires, if not they'd be prosecuted.

Hahahaha, do you actually believe that? When they've got the government in their pocket and dictate what they pay to HMRC?

The Labour Government made no provision for recession when they were raking in the taxes during the years of growth. The national credit card was spent to the limit & beyond to bribe all the lazy, idle & feckless & breed a generation who know their rights but accept no responsibilities.

Labour got into power in 1997, which makes people born under them not even able to vote yet. The "benefit class" you refer to are hardly known for their political engagement and don't vote Labour en masse anyway, if they even vote at all. Governments of both sides are responsible for getting us where we are today. Labouer needed to spend money making the country a decent place to live again for the vast majority of us after 18 years of Thatcherism had left it decimated. Or do you not remember the cardboard cities of the early '90's, can you not remember what places were like back then. The town I live in was an absolute ****hole 15 years ago, it's really nice now. Same goes for where both my parents live as well.

Debt has to be paid back & we have to ignore all the vested interests trying to protect their own little empires.

Easy to say when it's not you being made destitute by these policies, isn't it? It's not just the idle and the "scroungers" who are getting shafted by the cuts.

Removing the means to repay the debt isn't going to get it paid back. The deficit is also increasing as this govt's economic policy is only leading to more unemployment and more dependency on welfare.

Oh my stars, get f***ed you absolute moron. Who gives a sh*te about ANY of that on a thread where a bloke has just asked for a signature?

Still prepared to take an infraction (genuine apologies to the mods but that bold bit is comfortably the most t*ttish thing I've read on GOT ever.)

It's quite simple - if you want to discuss that, start a new thread; don't hijack this one, as it isn't for political debate - it's a request to sign something for a cause that a member of the forum has close to their heart.

Blue 1, Thatcher saved this country from bankruptcy!

Tubey, I didn't realise that you were arbiter of what can & can't be discussed on a thread. If you don't like my comments then don't read them.

The original post asked people to sign up to a politically motivated petition. Plenty of people commented that they'd signed it. I commented that I would not sign it & was then challenged as to why. Since then I've responded to a number of other posts. You have your opinion, I have mine. Obviously I think that mine is correct otherwise it wouldn't be my opinion. I've therefore shared my opinion with other readers of this forum in an effort to educate others. Would you care to put forward a contrary view? Blue 1 has done so & I respect his view even though I vehemently disagree with it.

As you chaps know, I like a political debate as much as anyone, but this isn't the time or place for that discussion, so I've locked the thread. The link in the OP is still there if folks want to sign. If not, they don't have to.
