Gout

I actually had a bout of it in my early twenties because of an issue I had/have with one of my kidneys rather than the usual life style and dietary choices.

Obviously the red meat and ale didn't help, but I haven't had it since I've had some treatment on the kidney. Still, I ensure I consider my diet in case it flares up.

Without exaggerating, it's bloody horrible and one of the worst pains I've experienced, so if you have got it I'd take it very, very seriously.

Alternatively....
Enjoy the port, lose the big toe. One has 9 other toes for a reason.
It's arthritis crystallizing in your blood getting stuck in any joint of your body - you need a pain killer tablet for it off your GP then start on Allopurinol that build up when your gout is cured and keeps it at bay ...... its so painful.......

But will it get rid of green fly?

Last year I stopped taking my allopurinol for a few weeks. Big mistake, the pain was unbearable. I never miss a tablet now.

Anyone remember going down with the ague?

( and no this is not some smutty sexual refrence!)

Gout - the arl fella got it bad - huge swollen foot and calf!!! didnt keep him off the booze though even if he had to hop to the local....

I used to get this very regularly, the attacks are unreal lads, i used to play a fair bit of ball when i was younger and broke bones and done my ligaments and a bad attack is as sore or even more painful. I was actually getting attacks every 3 weeks or so it was like a disability, a little melodramatic maybe but it takes about a week to recover so i would be getting a new attack about 2 weeks later, sometimes not even 2 weeks later. Anyway my mother god bless her got me a pair of these detox patches, you put them on the sole of your feet and put a sock over them going to bed at night and basically they draw out the toxins. I think i have had 1 attack since maybe 2 since and that was 13 or 14 years ago, now in addition to that there was maybe 3 or 4 times in that period i thought i felt something and i would have taken a tablet and done I done the detox patches another time. It must be years since i felt that i might have had something coming on and it is 6 years since my last proper attack. I'm not exaggerating but those detox patches worked wonders for me and i would recommend giving them a go, they're cheap and can be picked pretty much from most chemists over the counter.
