It's possible. But also very unlikely.

It's not the young that would make a difference this way strangely enough - it's the 25-34 year old demographic who are technically savvy but still young enough to reliably vote Labour.

Just voted myself anyway. Kind of. I let my two year old use it for drawing practice. I was there five minutes, and predictably not a soul other than me, the kid and the vote taking people around. Which is the case in this constituency every single election.

It actually did. I went in living room, said "right off to vote", the little one said "I want to vote too", I said alright come on, then he asked me what voting was and I said it was "X marks the spot, like a pirate".

So I said to him do X marks the spot and he proceeded to just scribble all over the paper. Then I let him put it in the box.

Nice to know that the right to vote, something that people have actually died for so that you can have the right to do it, is something you see as such a joke. If I were you, I wouldn't be bragging about this in all honesty, it doesn't make you look good at all

Hmmmmmmmmm. This is some admirable doubling down

I didn't see it as funny. I see it as a protest vote - all the political parties abandoned me and many people like me by veering off to extremes.

I'm sorry you didn't see the point of what I did.

What do you expect from a Tory?

Hate to break it to you, but there is no such thing as a protest vote in a democratic voting country.

This excuse and reasoning baffles me. Surely there is one person that is palatable that you could vote for. Maybe the lesser of three or four evils (depending on the amount of candidates of course). It just seems lazy. A millennial excuse not to take part (not saying you are a millennial, just seems like millennial behaviour).

By spoiling you vote in a country that offers you more than two people generally you really can be part of the problem.

If you abstained in the USA i would get it given that it's A or B. Well unless in the UK where you are it's the same also. Only then i see your point. but even then again lesser of two evils.

What's the difference between voting for a party that will never get in and spoiling your ballot?

What's the difference between voting for a party that will never get in and spoiling your ballot?

The difference for me is moral - in that voting for, say, the Lib Dems even though Labour will always win this seat will be me giving tacit approval to what they are and what they do.

I can't do that, as I didn't approve of them. Why that's so baffling to people is their business, but it makes sense to me.

It's the manner of spoiling a vote or actively taking part. If only everyone who spoiled a vote actually voted. You never know. Say they all "wasted" their vote on the same outsider what then? Change.

You can never know if you spoil your vote.

You are neglecting the reason I spoiled the ballot - I didn't want to 'change' to any of them. I wanted to 'change' away from them. All of them.

Spoiling the ballot sends that message. It says I was arsed enough to turn up to do it, but you all haven't earned my actual vote.
