Lets get this straight. EFC did not make an administrative cock up they acted in good faith by verbally agreeing a new contract, this I snot out of the ordinary in footy (eg Rodwell and Rooney) nor is it unusual in any walk of life. The fact is Gosling is a treacherous little punk who fleeced the club of 4 mil and totally disrespected the Goodison faithful. I for one will not show any empathy when he returns to Goodison as a foreign mercenary. What say you all?

As the saying goes: 'verbal agreements aren't worth the paper they're written on'.

It was an almighty fcuk up by the club...sorry, let's have it right, by Robert Elstone. He's cost the club the transfer fee we could have got for him at some point. A multi million pound error that someone should pay for with their job.

Footballers 99/100 are mercenaries these days, he had no affiliation to the club other than them being his employer, and he was offered a better paying job with more playing time.
Will I be wishing him luck though? Will I fcuk!

to come off with a throw-away comment like that i take it you have never lost a job before. anyway, Moyes didnt seem to want to fight for it in an appealso that says alot to me as to his abilities. the main point is that - that everton supportors seem to be trying their hardest not to support their club, constnatly complaining about the board etc whilst this lttle punk is still idolised for a single moment of glory.

I think this is the first time I've used this word in such a phrase

But Fellaini is going to OWN him, if Gosling even gets picked to play against us.

Little from column A and a lot from column B really....

Bottom line is that he wasn't secured. The club paid £1M for him and he could have fetched a couple more on top easy. Whatever the circumstances with the player, that's negligence/extreme naivety on Elstone's part.

And a betrayal of trust by Gosling, which was a smack in the eye for Moyes. Dave stop trying to defend him and attacking the club.

I'm sorry, attacking Gosling might be good sport but it doesn't really get to the heart of why a £3M rated player is walking out of the club to Newcastle for free. Surely you want answers to that? Surely you want to know why a cash strapped David Moyes has to look on while good money he could be using vanishes because of a bureaucratic error?

Elstone Out!

We got 10 million more than we should have from City from Lescott, it all swings in round abouts......

I have to disagree to be honest. I don't think any of us have 'all the facts', but my own guess is that Everton delayed offering him another contract in writing because of his injury, and Gosling has probably thought that if we won't commit, then he must protect his future. Everton could have screwed him if his injury hadn't healed well just the same by only offering him a verbal contract. We love Everton, but that doesn't mean they are angels, and I totally blame them on this occasion, and NOT Gosling.

Because somebody made a mistake Dave, thats why.
