Goodison Park after we move?

The community's paramount need for jobs and housing are also the two things that will bring the most money to Everton, which is why the site should quite rightly be split between a supermarket and housing, and not wasted by becoming a museum that nobody would attend.

Knock the stands down for decent housing. However the pitch area is holy ground. It should be a park and memorial gardens. People have had their ashes scattered in the past I believe. St Lukes church garden can be extended where people's ashes are scattered currently.

They converted Highbury into a residential building. Don't see why they couldn't do the same to Goodison Park.

In London, housing is at a premium, in Walton, its not.

For me, Everton should retain it and let the local community useit and enjoy it, as they have done since 1892.

The land prices wont even be that much round there..... 5-6 million for the lot, if being very generous. The fanbase that may be created through its presence over the years could be worth much more than that, albeit in non monetary terms.

Not having a go mate, but do you honestly think that an empty Goodison Park that would eventually fall into disrepair unless it was given regular maintenance would increase our fan base? Half of Merseyside hates Goodison and have been calling it a shed for nearly 30 years, and I have serious doubts that the blue half of Merseyside would be visiting an empty outdated stadium in their droves. It just wouldn't be the attraction that some people think it would be.

Im not talking about leaving it woth just open doors for people to go and have a look at. It can become a hub, EITC Head office, training areas, conferencing centre for charities. Sports ground in the middle. Maintaining the presence in the area. Its only hope anyway, but they're not going to be able to sell it and make a fortune.

Salvage it all and use it for Community buildings.. (houses or whatever) - no idea but someone will know how to upcycle it all.

After that the empty space could be used for a proper community sports facility - running track, indoor stuff.. you know - the kind of thing only one football club in the city would ever think about..

Or failing that an industrial estate for making half-and-half scarves and Kopite banners with the profits going towards a new East Lancs Road.

It's a sensitive subject and one that requires the Club to communicate with residents and local authorities once - and if - our plans to move are made public.

My family live very close to Goodison and the change of occupancy will be of huge significance to them. The Club - both directly and indirectly - produce income, exposure and footfall to one of our City's more deprived areas.

There will no doubt a call on the Club to leave a legacy that represents our occupancy of the site - to simply demolish and move on is a disservice to the local community who have supported our club with the challenges that hosting a game in a residential area bring - and the many who have chosen to lay at rest forever in L4.

One step at a time for me. A forward looking view of a move to the Docks will be great news for the Club but at the same time, there should be consideration and much thought to the institution we are leaving behind.

It should be retained by the club for the use of the community. What that looks like I have no idea but it's far too important to the club to walk away from it totally.

EITC should be a key stakeholder in what it eventually becomes.
