A calling in would be disastrous for a stadium build that every penny seems necessary for. Tesco's acquisition of the town centre land in retrospect - and despite all the rhetoric and spin yesterday about it being 'a step closer to a new stadium' - looks like their avenue out of this mess. They'll get what they want in the shape of a massive retail presence in Kirkby.

Time to look for our Plan B.
