Good start to the season or a strong end to the season

Okay having knowing now that we have hit our annual rough patch which would you prefer

Great football and results 1st half of the season or

****e football to begin with but boss football to finish
I prefer our normal ****e start and strong finish as it gives us fans something to be excited about and you know you won't be let down like we have being this season

Ideally, both.

But otherwise I'd prefer a crap start, it's no use being 2nd in October or whatever if you end up eighth at the end. Much better to sit around 11th-12th til Jan then leap up to 5th at the end of the season.

This season it feels like we're clinging on, knackered.

This is everton they dont do both

Good start. Then it's there for all to see how poorly run we are as a club when or if we fall away meekly to 7th again and blow a chance because of failure to invest.

Good start is better obviously. We haven't finished poorly yet, we still have everything to play for!

I no but the expections were set high with moyes saying he was pushing for europe . It just seems a waste of all the hard work that was put in at the start of the season . If we carry on the way we are playing now and teams around us carry on form then i cant see anything else but 7th to 10th being achieved

A good start is worth nothing if it isn't backed up with a solid season's effort to the end.

A poor start needn't be the end of the world if it doesn't go too long after all it's a marathon not a sprint.

It ain't where you start but where you finish

It ain't what you do but the way you do it

I won't take credit for this .... some one said we took a gun to a knife fight and shot ourselves in the foot ( twice )

Moyes has made mistakes, plenty infact, but its the performance in the transfer window that demands most scrutiny, massive opportunity blown this season

Correct. The board took a knife and plunged it into the tyres of our campaign. No failed 'bid' for an £8M player two days before the window slammed shut is going to brush that fact under the carpet.

The last couple of hours of that window were just horrible, and you knew what effect it would have on our top four chances. If Moyes left at the end of the season and said its because the board hampered him when he was pushing for fourth, I'd actually respect him for it, wont happen like

We haven't got a big enough squad to sustain high levels of performance for a whole season, some of the players are running near on empty right now. I'm beginning to fear that we're going to have a really poor end to the season.

I hate to go over old ground but we were desperate for 1 or 2 bodies in January, someone who could come in and just do a decent enough job and take some of the strain. A loan or two would have been ideal.
