Good signing for Norwich

Player Valuation: £25m
Norwich City have agreed an £8million deal for in-demand Dutch forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel, according to reports in Portugal.

The Canaries nipped in ahead of their rivals by agreeing a deal with Sporting Lisbon that would see them pay most of the money this week, thus alleviating Los Leões immediate financial concerns.

The fee is nearly double what the Lisbon side paid in acquiring van Wolfswinkel from Utrecht in 2011, even though they will only receive 35% of the income due to a third-party arrangement.

Most importantly, the transfer will allow Godinho Lopes, president of the Jose Alvalade club, to pay some two months worth of backdated wages to its players and coaching staff
Norwich had a similar-sized bid for the player rebuffed in January, but Chris Hughton has now got his man according to reports in the Portuguese press, and he will arrive in the summer to further strengthen his attacking options.

With the winter arrival of Luciano Becchio and a new contract signed by Grant Holt last summer, van Wolfwinskel's signing is likely to spell the end for Simeon Jackson's stay at the club, as well as the on-loan James Vaughan.

would of been a good signing for us shame clubs like Norwich have more money than us.

'Kinell.

Good signing for them if that comes off.

On the subject of random strikers I saw a bit of that Wilfried Bony the other day and was fairly impressed.

Not impressed if he's gone there above us! How small can our ambitions be when players are choosing the likes of Norwich, Stoke, Reading etc?
