Slightly different but True Detective is the only thing I've seen recently that's come close to Gomorrah. Though TD would take some beating then a few month later along came Gomorrah

I thought that a bit, and a shame because the rest of the writing never slipped down that path

There's only 2 seasons of Romanzo Criminale so stick with it. One of the best shows ive seen.
