The most GIF-able coach in sports, Mexico National Team coach Miguel Herrera, should have been in a joyous mood today. Mexico won the Gold Cup after a 3-1 victory over Jamaica in the final and they’ll now play the USA in a mouthwatering clash later this fall to decide who represents CONCACAF at the next Confederations Cup.
Alas, in the midst of celebrating the triumph, Herrera reportedly punched a Mexican journalist at the Philadelphia airport, Christian Martinoli of TV Azteca.
AS Mexico spoke with Martinoli, who has apparently been a critic of Herrera and El Tri in the past. The
Google Translate version of the article says that Martinoli alleges Herrera punched him in the neck and basically challenged him to settle things outside.

@mexicoworldcup: Worth pointing out that @medranoazteca is a serious and respected journo in Mexico. Just when we though Gold Cup controversy was over!
In other words, it’s pretty much the most fitting ending possible to a wild and crazy Gold Cup.
