Welcome back Wayne
A 15-year-old Army Cadet was attacked and burned by a man wielding a makeshift blowtorch on Saturday.

The boy was standing at a bus stop in Manchester city centre on Saturday evening when he was attacked. He was wearing his camouflaged uniform and had spent the day selling poppies for Remembrance Sunday.

A man carrying an aerosol can and a lighter approached the cadet at the bus stop, spraying him with lit fumes and causing minor burns to his face while singing hair on his face and his right forearm, Greater Manchester Police said.

Police said the man, who was described as black or Asian and 5ft 8 inches tall wearing a dark hooded top, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was staggering. He walked off from the bus stop by the Manchester Gallery without saying a word.............

Words seem superfluous........

Thankfully isolated incident so far but is it going to start being dangerous to wear the poppy on the streets? I really hope we don't have to start worrying about loved ones wearing one. I [Poor language removed] hate this country at times.

I really hope this doesn't put people off wearing one. Important cause. only way is to not give in to these bully boy tactics. I fear we will do as we always do.

We live in a reality now where anyone wearing a flower (real or plastic) is a prime target for muslims with their muslamic rayguns.

And yet again you miss the point that a lad has had his face burned for selling poppies for charity in favour of giving that religion and its followers a pass.
