Well that's just terrifying really isn't it.

I personally think it's incredibly exciting. No new owners will have taken over the club in the knowledge that half a squad is leaving in the summer and being unwilling to fund improvements over what we've had. We need about three players directly into the starting XI and then backup that's at least on par with what we've been starting with this season. Let's hope the club gets it right! ;)

What would be truly terrifying is if they've been comfortable announcing departures without agreements already in place for incomings.

….massive challenge to re-build this squad. The fact that Young and Doucoure were offered deals is a sign that we will need numbers, so I expect others who are not yet contracted for next season to be here. Manage expectations, expect to be disappointed when some re-sign.

Moyes and the new owners have inherited a situation they won’t be able to address immediately, that’s the reality.

Couldn’t agree more. We bought in eight players last summer and that was without the new owners, heavier PSR restrictions, Dycheball and no new stadium. I can’t wait to see who we bring in

Take that question mark away from Maupay. He is gone.

His contract expires in June irregardless of the “obligation” loan deal we made with Marseille for them to buy him (which was just effectively deferring the payment for a permanent deal for a year).

This isn't true actually, he signed a years extension before going on loan so his deal technically runs until summer 2026.

But he is gone, sold to Marseille as you rightly say.

Exceptional piece of business by Thelwell that was . He’s been turd over there , he was out of contract this year and we got a bit of money for him .
He’s already transfer listed there .

You'd think Charly and gana come back into the fold as a minimum.

On the brand NEW players front I'm envisaging ,not specific, to position

2 x 'marquee' signings for decent fees circa £30 million

2/3 signings at more modest fees.

1/2 cheeky deals on a free.

5 x loans

That gets you 10-12 players needed for rebuild.

I also think people need to be prepared that they're not all going to be U23 wonder kids, it'll be a mix. With the players going out we probably need one or two older experienced heads.

But yes it's gonna be proper exciting for the transfer window nerd 👌

(As a postscript personally I'd spend the big money on striker and a right winger - we can be more pragmatic further back in midfield and defence with clever lower cost deals -.assuming we ain't going hog wild)
