Goal difference

I apologise if this has been posted before, but I've just re-registered, after being a member of the old toffee-web forum.

Has anyone noticed the amazing goal difference Everton have this season. It's incredible. I cannot remember such a rich GD for years. Last year I was impressed by it, but this year.... You can always judge the good teams based on GD, and if you look at the table now, you can see us easily challenging for the title! Good omens of this to come! Just keep those away goals down at home!

true we have a great goal difference our progress isn't coming from simple 1-0 results like previous years, we're actually scoring. to be perfectly fair, its not as though we score loads of goals day in and day out though, results like 7-1 sunderland kind of skew that number a bit.

you're right about the away goals, no reason why we shouldn't keep a clean sheet at home, goodison should be a fortress. Imo the reason we're struggling defensively is because moyes finally decided to go for it a bit more, and is not hesitating to send backs like lescott forward on almost every play. when you're a back its hard to sustain that kind of play for 90 minutes. funny how what i had hope for so much last season, a more attacking team, has come back to bite us in the ass.

i'm not saying we should play 8 defenders like liverpool in cup games, but maybe have our defenders play a tad more conservatively, let them save the thundering runs so they aren't something defences expect and are prepared for.

On balance I prefer this season, we may concede more than we should, but I always feel like we can score when needed, whereas in the recent past you felt that 1-0 down, game over.
