Giving up Caffeine

I was on two cups of strong coffee a day and I have found that I couldn't think, my mind was totally useless. I've switched over to one weak tea and a standard coffee and I have found that my mind is a lot clearer. I'm thinking of going totally caffeine free. Anyone experienced the same?
Yep been caffeine free for about a year, can't say it bothers me at all, just the habit of having a cuppa at certain times was harder to cope with.
Have decaf if it bothers you, saying that thought giving up sugar was harder even now I wouldn't mind a cup of tea with a spoonful in just to kick start the day over a year since I gave that up.

Love a cup of tea/coffee, went through a period where I drank far too much though. I try to manage myself a bit better now with maybe 1-4 max of either in a day. My morning coffee is the main one I'd rather not go without.

Really depends what I'm doing though, if I'm in work I only drink water for example.

I also particularly dislike coke/most fizzy drinks on the whole now, have them very very occasionally and usually after one swig I'm done with it.

I've been caffeine free for a few weeks now aside from the odd cup of tea, and I feel much better

I find that I wake up easier in the morning and I'm less irritable

I was having roughly an energy drink a day plus something like 3-4 cups of tea on top of it

My face was starting to twitch and getting up in the morning was awful

I now drink mostly decaf tea and water, and I'm not missing caffeine if I'm honest

Apparently there's more caffeine in tea than there is in coffee

No worse person than the 'I need coffee to function' bores. No you don't.

This leads me to an awfully embarrassing thing that happened to me last year. I was at a bar in Aberdeen and my gf wanted one of those warm alcoholic coffees (it was very cold and windy). I normally tend to get by without saying kooky drink names on drinks menus by just calling it what is it called in real life. Unfortunately, I didn't know the real name for this so I ordered the 'Wake me up coffee'.

The barman actually brought me over a normal coffee. HE THOUGHT I WAS ONE OF THEM. I just hope it hated me as much as I hated myself for him thinking that.

If you need a conclusion; we got to keep the coffee and got the coffee based alcoholic drink. Boy did we chuckle.

be careful- I gave it up for Lent once. Within two days I had blinding headaches, so bad that I really thought I had developed meningitis. I was shocked at how bad the withdrawal was and how much of an addict I must be.
