Player Valuation: Free Transfer
Firstly, I really like what the club has done so far this transfer window however signing Rooney or Giroud would be a backwards step. Rooney is an Everton hero however is nowhere near is peak and we definitely would not be able to rely on him week in week out. I would only like the Rooney signing if we can get him for very cheap!
Also Giroud. I believe this would be a horrible signing. Yes he can score goals at clutch moments, but he is very inconsistent. There's a reason why Arsenal went out and bought Lacazette. Because Giroud is not good enough.
Both Rooney (sort of)and Giroud are out of favour at their clubs so if we want to be conpeting strongly with both Arsenal and Man United, then we should not feed on their scraps. We need to go after someone world class like dybala, morata, aubamayamg if lukaku leaves. That would make a statement. Not signing players that have peaked and are not good enough for clubs we are competing with.
On the whole, I am super excited for the season ahead and hope more deals can go through before the season starts. However I believe The signings of Giroud and Rooney would be a huge backward step
