I disagree with you.

If I own the item, I have a right to burn it (unless its nuclear fuel or something).

Not only that, they choose to get excitied by me burning a particular book.

I nor anyone else should be expected to have to gauge how someone else would react - thats the whole problem with incitement as a law, its up to to judge to decide if they could have known i it would have caused offense.

Im sorry, but if someone gets offended or influenced then its their problem not mine.

Again, I believe in total liberty for everyone.

a duty of care over someones potential 'offence' should not come into it.

Its incredible how labour destroyed so many of our civil libertys in 13 years, its the main reason why I cant stand them anymore.

I would say its a law that does exist because of peoples reactions to previous incidents.

All laws infringe on our civil liberties when it comes down to it, but the majority exist for the better good.

I don't disagree with what you said, i've stated my views on religion already and think any trouble which comes from it is complete bollocks.

But that doesn't mean i don't realise that ceratin things i could say and do would cause that trouble. So i dont do or say them. Easy and no harm done. Its about more than simple offence.

Its why you can't walk into a crowded cinema and shout "fire".

hang on a second..........

I agree, burning a Holy book and posting it on facebook is not a clever thing to do. And she deserves to be punished.

but, what about the horrible Cunts who burned the Poppy's....???? Why not arrest them. I hate this fucking country.

Why double standards. Even more why side with muslims. It's not a Muslim country. Are we scared to be called racist. Fuck that, this country has gone to [Poor language removed].

Makes me so angry....

England is afraid to be England mate. Simple as that. Anyone heard of the Trojan Horse? Just saying.

dont see the point in posts like this, it just flames the arguments. Leave it to the daily mail.

Sure all that stuff may get burnt in other countries but thats got nothing to do with this case has it? Sharpie asked why the Muslims who burnt poppies in London a few weeks ago wern't arrested like this girl was. Because they didn't commit the same crime, if any that she did. And some fthem were arrested on the day of the protest.( I see Davek posted this above, but where they arrested for buring the poppies Dave do you know or was it just general public order offences?)

Show me a Muslim schoolchild on video burning a bible, an act which was reported to the police and then not acted on in the same way due to not wanting to upset Muslims and appear racist and i'll share your view.

This girl was an idiot. If any Muslim kid videos themselves burning a bible they are an idiot. Muslims who burnt the poppies were idiots.

I don't care about any religion, i think they are all bollocks. I had a right falling out with a Muslim guy i used to work with once when i told him so.

So scared of being called racist? Defending Islam? No chance, before Nik trots out that line again as he usually does when these subjects pop up. Replace Islam with any religion in this story and i'd say the same.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." - First Amendment to the US Constitution

Just saying. God bless Mother England, but I have a real problem with the whole criminalizing of the process I see here. You can torch the Koran or the New Testament or the Book of Mormon, no matter - it's speech where I live, and it's free. You can make yourself look like an ass, and you're responsible for what you say/do, but it's not against the law.

Now for the important stuff.

Butter first, not too thick but applied into the bread, not as a thick layer on top - complete coverage to the edge - if you don't want butter on your fingers, let me butter my own bread, thank you. Toast under the broiler about three minutes until golden. That's a proper piece of toast. No burned edges - that's the key. Strawberry preserves with that, anyone?
