Nah it's in Ukraine.

Oddly enough, despite the stats saying 1-2%, I know about 3 gingers from my hometown alone.

Whereas here it's pretty much every second person ffs.

Is right on both counts, though it must be said that what hair I do have left is strangely no long ginger. ( I think somebody bleached almost white when I wasn't looking )

The average person has a pretty lame sense of humour to be honest (not scousers obviously but just a normal).

They like to think they're funny though and one of the most reliable laughs someone who isn't actually funny can get is making fun of people (people learn this in school when mocking/bullying hits its height and it reinforces in these people's minds the idea that mocking people who are "different" is their recipe for laughs -- so we have to listen to a lifetime of their hacky jokes even after they have [allegedly] grown up).

In recent years the number of targets for mockery has been drastically reduced because of what these non-creative people will call "the PC brigade" but is really just us all growing up a bit as a culture.

So with less ability to make fun of races/disabled for a cheap laugh we've seen an increase in mockery of the few "acceptable" targets which remain in society. One of those is people with red hair.
