Since when did they get so expensive? Almost £80 to see Pearl Jam. As much as I like them, that price leaves a dirty taste in the mouth.

Then you have £60 to see Arctic Monkeys - though at least that price is eased somewhat by Tame Impala also being on the bill.

Rich mans game now (n)

Bought PJ tickets myself, 3 tickets came to £188. Poor form, especially considering that they protested ticket prices at one stage of their careers. Oh well.

Only having gigs at Leeds and Milton Keynes is random, too.

ha! just bought pearl jam tickets myself, insanely expensive! but prob last chance get to see them for a long time so thought it was worth it, hopefully there willb e good support acts too

anyone been to MK bowl for gigs before? good sound etc?

I went for Leeds in the end - at one point it looked a complete nightmare to be able to get a decent seat, settled for level 2. £65.

Milton Keynes really does look like it sucks for those who wouldn't be driving to the event! Accommodation looks a nightmare, unless you're able to fork out £70 for one night stay.

Yeah, went for Leeds too. I'm up in the higher tier, hopefully it's not that bad. Hate sitting at gigs but going with my dad who prefers sitting so what can you do?

Not a lot, especially as it looked like standing tickets sold out within 2 minutes (seriously, I logged on at 09:02) and they had gone :o

Maybe cos they make sodall from music sales they bump up the ticket prices, still tho, robbing rich bastards.

I paid £3.50 to see AC/DC in 1981. Back in Black tour.

Saw them again in 2008. £40.00. Bit like footie prices really.

Brand New's Manchester show sold out in less than an hour, I overslept. Ended up paying over 40 quid for 25 quid tickets on Get Me In.

Ahhh well, just glad to have tickets.

I see mostly up and coming bands and generally spend around 15 or 20 dollars. The "big name" acts are crazy expensive, but luckily I don't go to many of those kinds of shows.

Yeah it's similar here. You usually pay anywhere between £10-£20 to go to a "small" venue, like the O2 Academy venues that seem to be in most cities.

I prefer those kind of gigs anyway. Less people, less distance to the bar, and louder!

There's more value in festivals IMO. I'm going to NorthSide, Denmark 13th-16th June. I get Arcade Fire, QOTSA and Pixies for £145 - and because it's in a city centre I don't need to camp. Result.

Yep, in agreement here. I saw Electric Six in the O2 a couple of weeks ago, much better atmosphere. Plus for 12 quid it was probably the best value for money gig I've been to.
