People of a similar age myself will be weeing in there pants about a possible new addition to the ghostbusters film, especially with Dan akroyd on board (we will just forget about the terrible 2016 reboot)
That got me thinking, if Ghostbusters were to get re-done today of the following characters, who would you recast them as?

Bill Murray as Peter Venkman
Dan Aykroyd as Raymond "Ray" Stantz
Sigourney Weaver as Dana Barrett
Harold Ramis as Egon Spengler
Rick Moranis as Louis Tully
Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore
Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz

.....never seen any of the Ghostbuster films, they just don’t appeal to me. I can’t be in the age group referred to.

Don't think it is age seeing the original was like 35 years ago, you must have been a relatively young man that you could have taken interest in it had you been inclined to do so. I think the problem lies with the fact that you ain't afraid of no ghost...so it never appealed.

Ghostbusters was great and all but do we really need a 32019th sequel?

That's just one too many really.

Agree mate, its almost as if writers have ran out of ideas for new films, rehashes of every super hero going.

Nostalgia sells unfortunately - Late to mid 80s-90s kids are the first proper TV & Movie generation, the generations after that went to computer games and the generation after that are social media nad online gaming.

People are catering for there audiences, plus with the likes of Netflix and Boxsets becoming the massive thing now, a writer of any ilk would prefer to tell there storys that way, now (1 1/2 hour film vrs 10 1 hour episodes)

If the Godfather was made now, it would be a Netflix series, same with alot of Scorcese films
Same with your Die Hards, Beverley Hills CopsTermanators etc they would all be series now

Which basically leaves the monie world left with Pixar films, Marvel Films and rehashes of old films
