Getting to Goodison on new years day

I will be arriving in Liverpool about 3:00 on Jan 1st, and have a hotel in the docks area. What would be the best way to get to Goodison from there? I'm assuming taxis will be extortionate, is there likely to be scheduled public transport I could use?

Bite the bull to and get a cab, you minge.

Your paying for the convenience, plus the cabbie will know the best places that are open for a pint afterwards too.

New Year's Day can be a bit of a weird one, with many places shut.

Are you with Alpha or Delta?

Just ask the hotel to phone you a taxi 10 minutes before you want to leave. They will then use a company that wont involve any cherry picking drivers. Dont know about privates but black cabs are only time and a half new years day and no more. A cab from the docks depending on which docks will be about £7-£10 normally, so £10-15 new years day.
