Getting an additional ticket

There seems to be a new family and friends thing for season ticket holders im not really aware of what it is.

But if you are a season ticket holder, can someone (a friend) get a ticket for a game using your reference/customer number, or do you have to buy it for them?

i know you can link fan numbers so as to purchase seats together, i have tried to do this but thus far unsuccessfully.
