Bluerover

Player Valuation: £60m
Very sad to read of his death at just 68.

Although he played for Bohs, as a Rovers fan I always liked him.

Tommy Docherty signed him for Derby then he went to Brighton helping them to promotion. He was also part of the Brighton team that took United to a replay in the Cup Final.

Always honest and worked his socks off when playing for Ireland.

Rest in Peace Gerry, God Bless.

RIP.
He absolutely hated Palace and with good reason. His career was ended by a horror “tackle” from Palace’s Henry Houghton (brother of Chris). It was absolutely horrible, no question. Some years later I played in a charity game where he played (just hobbled around). His leg was still badly scarred.
Suffered with I’ll health for some years.
A good player for “them” and the RoI.
