Jacob

Player Valuation: £35m
Thought it disrespectful to post this in the usual LFC thread. Sad to hear that the stalwart LFC full back and local lad Gerry Byrne has passed away after a long illness. Gerry will always be remembered for his bravery in the '65 Cup Final when he broke his collar bone in the opening minutes but insisted on playing on and through extra time. I bet the irony isn't lost on on a lot of Kopites given the glaring analogy with Daniel Sturridge. Different times....different people. Condolences to his family.

good player from back when they weren't the rs. just the other mob.

RIP
Met him as a kid when he opened a church fete at Walton Church vicarage with Ian Callaghan. Very nice gent it was the first time I had met a proper footballer. Must admit I was a bit starstruck.
