Interesting viewing,sad he didn't have someone to give him the right guidance. Talent who could have been one of the all time greats, remembered for his football skills rather than his drinking and one-liners.
 

Best>Gazza... although he'll be remembered for fishing rods and 4 packs and going for booze and fags in his dressing gown.

I find it difficult to be hard on Best
Like many of us if we had that adulation it would be easy to enjoy it to the full
 
He was before my time and I didn't really know the ins and outs of his career, so I really enjoyed the documentary last night.

A young man who succumbed to the drink and went the same way as his Mam, sad but he made his own choices.
 

Was there anything new in it?

I prefer to remember his exploits on the pitch when football was the main thing on his mind.

I encountered him when he played at Hibs but for all his charm it was clear football had taken a back seat by then.

...very talented footballer that I can vividly remember watching plenty of at Goodison but the true greats have more than talent, they have application. He had some life outside the game but sadly that contributed to his downfall.

He wouldn't have listened and I'm sure plenty did - it's part of the problem.
Those who saw him thought he was an all time great - I did and do.
