Gazza's tears - the night that changed football

That was a tense match, I couldn't have coped with England getting to a WC final though. I've no doubt revenge would have been had on Argentina and Maradona, who was more or less a washed up coke-head at that point compared to 86. As for Gazza's tears, had I been there I would happily have licked them from his cheeky wee face!

Seriously though, England were unlucky!

Gazza could possibly be the last English player to genuinly care about his nation in football. Since then we have had Rio, Terry, Gerrard amongst others who all talk about playing for England yet never have a emotional bone in their body, dont think we will have another player so passionate about playing for England.

should have been knocked out about three times this team, his tears epitomize why he wasn't as great a player as he should have been the blubbering embarrassment, and shilton gets more press than southall after knocking his nation out of two tournaments the woolly haired weapon

+1

Contrast cry baby Gazza with Roy Keane when United played Juventus in the 1999 CL semi final.

Keane got booked early doors and that meant he would miss the final if United got there.

What did he do?

He rolled up his sleeves and almost single handedly dragged United back into the tie.

Gazza on the other hand made a stupid tackle and cried when he realised the yellow card he received would rule him out of the final if England got there.
